# Moderation guide

## The queue

Open reports are gathered per post or reply, oldest first, with recently hidden posts. You can report a thing once, so a count is people, not clicks.

## Resolve

Settle every open report on a post or reply with an outcome: **hide** or **dismiss**.

## Hide

Hide a post or reply with a reason. The author is told and still sees it with the reason. **Unhide** brings it back.

## Lock and pin

**Lock** a thread: no new replies. **Pin** a post to keep it on top.

## Slow mode and closing

**Slow mode** allows one message per member per interval (in seconds, 0 is off) on a channel. **Close** a channel for no new posts and open it again later. Staff are exempt from slow mode and locks.
